Apples (Jabĺčka) is an intimate, poetic piece bridging object and tabletop theatre. Through the aroma of fruit, small daily routines and gentle humour, it revives memories of home, family and heirlooms passed down through generations. Carving apples transforms into a quiet ritual full of images and associations, where ordinary gestures evoke a whole world of memories. Apples is an unobtrusive yet deeply sensitive performance about memory, family traces and things that seemingly disappear, yet remain stored within us forever. (Awarded 2nd place in the Czech UNIMA survey for Most Inspiring Puppet Production of the Season.)
Maryša Vávrová offers an original and playful twist on the classic tragedy by the Mrštík brothers. The traditional story turns into an intimate puppetry statement filled with perspective and dark humour. Playing with the classic text freely, it keeps a story of coercion and misunderstanding beneath its lighthearted surface — delivering a witty, gritty and surprisingly timely one-man show about business success and personal failure. (Winner of the ERIK Award 2025 for Most Inspiring Puppet Production in the Czech Republic.)
Hana Voříšková is a prominent figure in Czech amateur theatre, renowned for minimal, poetic visual design. Markéta Stránská is a choreographer and performer combining puppetry with contemporary dance. Bažant’s Puppeteers (Bažantova loutkářská družina) from Poniklá, led by Tomáš Hájek, draw on traditional folk and itinerant puppetry, relying on simplicity, wordplay and direct contact with the audience.
