Prieniky

Venues

The Prieniky festival won’t be confined to just one venue. Over the course of several days its programme will spread across various spaces in Bratislava — from theatre halls and a studio to a workshop space, a park and a bar. Because sometimes theatre can happen in places where you least expect it.

01

Bratislava Puppet Theatre

Dunajská 36, 811 08 Bratislava

The main festival hub will be the Bratislava Puppet Theatre at Dunajská 36, where the programme will take place in three different spaces:

  • BBD Main Hall
  • BBD Studio
  • BBD Workshop Space

Three spaces under one roof, each with a slightly different atmosphere and possibilities — ranging from large-scale stage productions and more intimate performances to workshops and creative gatherings.

02

The park in front of BBD, Wesselényi Garden

Dunajská 36, Bratislava

Right in front of the theatre lies the Wesselényi Garden. During the festival this space too will become part of Prieniky. Theatre will step outside its building for a moment, bringing it closer to the street, the park and the people passing by.

Admission to all park events is free. The only ticketed event will be Bára Hubená’s workshop (a 5 euro fee), which covers the materials for puppet-making — and participants get to take their puppet home.

From Dunajská, Prieniky will venture even further.

03

Aréna Theatre

Viedenská cesta 10, 851 01 Bratislava

The festival will also cross over to the other side of the Danube, to Divadlo Aréna. This historic theatre space on the Petržalka embankment is a prominent landmark of Bratislava’s theatrical scene and will serve as one of the key stops on our festival map.

And finally, the festival will head straight into the heart of the city centre.

04

Bohéma Bar

Kamenné námestie 1, 811 08 Bratislava – OD Prior

Bohéma is currently located in the former Prior department store on Kamenné námestie. It is a place where art, music, people and daily city life naturally intersect — making it a perfect fit for Prieniky.

Throughout the festival, Prieniky will bridge several distinct locations across Bratislava. From Dunajská you can stroll into the garden, head across the Danube to Aréna, or drop into the city centre. And along the way you might just discover that the journey between these spaces is part of what makes a festival a festival.
