Festival Opening: The Incredible Stories of Móric Beňovský

17 Sep at 18:00, BBD Main Hall

Who was Móric Beňovský? An adventurer, a visionary, a traveller or a dreamer? The original production The Incredible Stories of Móric Beňovský (Neskutočné príbehy Mórica Beňovského) transforms his life into a playful theatrical expedition where history meets fantasy and escapes, unexpected encounters and grand dreams of freedom come alive. It is a family show that brings one of the most prominent figures of Slovak history to life with humour, perspective and striking visual imagination.

Bratislava Puppet Theatre (Bratislavské bábkové divadlo), founded in 1957, is a progressive stage in contemporary Slovak puppetry. It combines traditional puppetry with physical theatre, object manipulation, projections, live music and multimedia. Alongside its regular repertoire, the theatre actively engages in international collaborations and organises the Prieniky festival.
